It all started with Lemmy 12 short months ago.  Many legendary icons and celebrities died at the very end of 2015, and in 2016.

Included in the celebrity deaths are four Star Wars actors, three Michael Jackson contributors, and two Barney Miller actors.

Many legendary musicians are in the group as well.

Over 200 Notable Celebrity Deaths in 2016, and there are 4 days left.


The main cause of the celebrity deaths this year being cancer and heart disease.

Although Parkinson's took a few too.

Some accidents and other illnesses round out the year.

It's not to say we haven't lost many iconic celebrities in the past.  And they do all usually come in threes.  But 2016 just seems to be abnormally depressing, and abundant in celebrity deaths.

I mean, lets not forget others who have recently lefts us in the last few years.  Such as Robin Williams, Leonard Nemoy, Yogi Berra, Wes Craven, Shirley Temple, and Rowdy Roddy Piper.

But with four days left of 2016, I'd be very scared if I was a celebrity.

Big Fat Fail

Daily musings....

Can I just say, it frustrates me to no end when reading recipe reviews, and people write, "I changed this, and this, and added that, and removed this" to the point that it's not even close to the original recipe, and then say something along the lines of how much they didn't like "the recipe", and then give it one or two stars.  Argh!

It's that time of year when I peruse recipes online.

Although I have known this for a while, I have realized how much it really affects my life.  That I get bored easily.  If a project takes longer than a couple hours, I won't finish.  If I have to plan something ahead of time, by the time it comes around to doing it, I'm not interested anymore.  I think it's gotten worse lately too.  I wasn't like that too much when I was younger.  I have absolutely no patience or attention span.   It kinda sucks.  I look forward to doing 'stuff'.... and then I don't.

This is why I have so many projects going on at once.  Yesterday I spent the day working in the basement.  There is so much to do!  It had become a sort of limbo storage place.  Now I have everything organized, and most of my gym set up.  There is still plenty to do, but I won't go back to it until I spontaneously decide to.  Some other day. That's just how I am.

I don't know what I'm going to do yet today.

I do have to bake a rum cake for my husband.  They're having their annual potluck Christmas party at work tomorrow, and the theme is Caribbean/tropical".  Rum cake, I can do.  I still can't find my recipes, but I found one online that seems pretty close.  Hence the recipe search I talked about earlier.

Now I want rum cake.  Maybe I'll make two. ;-)

I go a little overboard....

I still need to get moving on my cookie baking.  Every time I start, I get a big fat fail.  It's been frustrating not having my tried & true recipes to use.  I just can't find them anywhere!  It's still such a big mess here, even though I feel like I'm working my butt off every day.  Every year I make cookie platters for friends & neighbors around Christmas.... And I'm running out of time!

It's going to be warm today, so I need to finish the outside decorations.

So Little Time

Daily musings....

So many things to say, so little time.

OK, that's a lie.

So many things to say, so little motivation to sit down & write it out.

Yup.  That about sums it up.  I'm just too lazy to type.

But in all honesty, it really does feel like there is so little time to get everything done.

I'm trying really hard to work myself into a strict schedule, because I have absolutely no motivation to do anything.  Anything.  Blog?  Nope.   Clean?  Nope.  Brush my hair?  Nope.

Eat. That's all I want to do. Ah, depression is fun, isn't it?  But I've been real good on the eating part.  It's all going slowly, but it's going.  I'm doing more.  My schedule is working.  I just haven't made the habit of sitting & typing yet.  I seem to find 'other' things to do instead.  Well, at least things are getting done, right? *smile*

I've got some Black Friday shopping done even though I wasn't enthused about it.  Got some really good deals on things we needed and wanted.

Christmas shopping on the other hand is going slow.  The enthusiasm for Christmas hasn't hit me yet.  I have only baked pumpkin bread so far, and put up a few decorations.  I'm really, really trying though.

I've been dealing a lot with the animals.  Kiev, my 5 yr old Buff Orpington hen has ascites.  She's a sweet old lady who will run up to you when you come out of the house, just to "chat".  Vitamin water, scrambled eggs, the occasional draining, and sitting in the sun time with her BFFs is how she spends her day.  She's a happy bird.  I also have 2 partridges who's back ends have been nearly skinned.  It's really gross.  I mean, muscle & tissue fully visible in a 3" diameter area.  They don't seem worse for wear, but they are in the infirmary (my bathroom) 'til they heal.  Then I'll have to build them an above-ground separate aviary.  They were sharing an area with the guineas.  I don't think it was the guineas who pecked them, but I need to get them off the ground so others can't peck at them through the fence.  My suspects are the turkeys.

I've been working on the house a bit.  I've got the kitchen almost done.  New fridge and stove.  New sink & faucet.  New set of pots & pans, and a couple small appliances thanks to Black Friday sales.  Just a bit more caulking & painting left.  I do have to cut the counter a bit wider for the sink to fit in right, but my attention span on the project has left me.  The main bath only needs baseboards and some paint now mostly. We put in a new toilet, but the tub still needs replacing.  It's chipped bad, and before we moved in, the bank that owned it painted the tub with wall paint to cover up the chips.  Ugh.   I need to replace the light fixture as well.  It's too dark in there.  I have it, just need to do it.  My bath (master bath), is on hiatus.  Other projects are going on, plus the partridges are in there.  It can wait.  We never use it anyway.  I have to get the downstairs done.  It's getting cold, and cold down there, so I have to get the windows sealed up.

My house is still a mess.  Like I just moved in, though it was five years ago.  When you work on one room in the house, for some reason the rest of the house gets disheveled.  A lot.  It's just amazing really.

I'll stop talking here.  I don't want to bore you.  More.

I hope to get in the better habit of writing my daily musings, posting reviews, coupons & sales.  Wish me luck.
