I have another unit somewhat like this to keep the coyotes & foxes away, but it's not as cute as this one.

I put this on the opposite side of the yard for double protection. This one is motion activated instead of constant. Although the motion activation is great to save battery power, I think I prefer the constant. It's more reliable for protection. I know a blinking light does work, and I know ultrasonic sound does work as well. Also, after trying this out, I realized I like my solar one better. Not only is the battery compartment is a bit inconvenient, you don't know when the batteries die, and need replacement, unless you go out there & activate the motion sensor. I'm not trying to compare, these are just cons to this unit for me, personally, knowing what I do like in a pest repellent.

But this is a cute unit, and so far it seems to do does what it's supposed to.
