As dark forces close in on Brogio and his beloved children, the end of all vampires could come from a single blow at any moment.

When Kane sacrifices himself to save Snow Blood, the pack believes he is truly lost forever. After the devastating loss, a new ever-present threat of destruction surrounding Brogio, the original vampire, threatens his kindred.

While the pack stands guard watching for predators on the outskirts of Brogio’s winery estate, Snow Blood discovers Selene is keeping secrets from Brogio. This deception and Selene’s rapidly growing strength and independence could create a rift between the father of all vampires and his mate.

Snow Blood again helps hold their love together as he tries to protect them from the approaching evil. At the same time, Snow Blood suspects that Nova, the beautiful female wolf that attracts him in the forest, is part of a sinister plot to destroy his master … but he can’t resist her power over him.
Snow Blood: Season 2 (A Vampire Mystery Thriller) by Carol McKibben
Genre: Urban Fantasy

Vampires and vampire hunters with a bit of mythology thrown in, as told by a kindred dog.

If you read Snow Blood Season 1, reading this is like you're still reading the first book. This book starts right where the first one leaves off, only a little bit of time has passed in the storyline. I cannot see this being a standalone book. Even through there are some insights as to what happened in the last book, it's not thoroughly explained. I'm OK with that. I hate when the second book takes much of the book to reiterate the first.

You are greeted with the same characters, plus a few new ones. The storyline is steady, and keeps you wanting to read more. The only thing I don't care for too much, is the dog's thought dialogue is a bit choppy. Since it's a dog, I think the author is trying to portray a sense of childishness and lack of sophistication. I get caught up in it too much where it should just flow. But the characters are easy to associate with, and the plot is easy to understand. It's a pretty good read.

Overall, I like this book, and if there is a book 3, I will definitely read it.
