I like this gooseneck LED grow light. I can place it just where I need it without having a bulky lamp holder.

The LED Grow Light - GTaipe LED Clip Desk Lamp Clamp Flexible Neck 360 Degree with 5W bulb For Hydroponic Garden Greenhouse came well protected from breaking during shipping. The package contains the clamp gooseneck & a small grow bulb. This isn't a large unit. It is compact in size.

The bulb has 2 blue and 3 red lights. It doesn't get hot, just warm when using. The bulb is good for any type of plant, whether house plant or gardening variety. I like LED growlights much better than their fluorescent counterparts. The bulb is bright, and hopefully my plants like it. The bulb should last a very long time. If however it does burn out, you can just replace it & continue to use the gooseneck clamp.

Most Efficient for Photosynthesis
Plants do not use the entire spectrum of light. The chlorophyll and carotene only absorb the light at the range of two particular wavelength(blue 400-470nm and red 610-720nm). The light is designed to produce the most efficient wavelengths of light to produce peak photosynthesis.

Better Growth
With 2 blue and 3 red light, the LED grow light gives off both red and blue light which is important for maximizing growth in plants. Red light is good for budding, flowering and fruiting when blue light is to promote leaf.

Blue light is good for photosynthesis; and help to induce Chlorophyll and Carotenoid, which are necessary for healthy leaves; Red light is best for blooming and fruits,White light can be used to ensure the plant has itself's color.

LED grow lights are usually priced much higher, watt-for-watt, than other grow lights, but prices of this newer technology are dropping over time.

A newer form of LED grow lights that has been tested over the past several years is now more affordable than most other options of grow lighting. This is the chip on board LED grow light.
