Novapolt USB 3.0 External DVD and CD Drive

I had originally purchased this for my Windows 8 Nextbook as it does not have a cd/dvd drive, and most of the programs I need to install on it are on disc. This is the Novapolt USB 3.0 External DVD and CD Drive.

Unfortunately no matter what I tried, I could not get this to work on my Nextbook. It just didn't see it. I can't even open the drive to insert a disc. I tried the Novapolt website, but they have no drivers (as this is a plug & play unit). However, when I plugged it into my Windows 7 laptop, it worked great. I tried music, a movie, etc. I'm not sure why my Nextbook won't plug & play the unit.

The cord it comes with is way too short. I was hoping I could remove it & use my own USB cord, but you can't. Although , I like how you can clip it under the unit for storage. The case is sturdy, and simple.

It's a great little unit, and does what's described (except for my Windows 8 Nextbook). It is also good for portability.
