NFC tags. I am so behind the technology. I had no idea these things existed! This review is for the Crystal Cube NFC Tags by Utopiaplus.

It's true. I had no idea what these were. They are so freakin' cool! I do have some reasons I didn't give this product 5 stars tho.

Like I said, I had no idea what these were or did. After reading the description & deciding to try them, I had a vague idea, but I was clearly a novice with these. So when the package arrived, and it was just a baggy of hexagon things, I was lost. There were no instructions. There wasn't even a card that had a link to go find instructions. I had no idea what to do. For a moment I just thought I'd play Chinese stars with them, as my internet was out & couldn't research. They did me no good.

Anyway, so the next day when I was finally able to research, I found out you have to download a couple apps to program these. Well, I can't download stuff on my rural satellite internet due to limited bandwidth & we don't get cell service in my area. Yes, I live in the middle of nowhere. Had I known, I probably wouldn't have ordered these. Fast forward to several days later when I was able to get to a place where I could download the apps. There are many NFC apps out there. I chose NFC Tools & NFC Tasks. You need both. After I got the apps....the fun began!

I was able to program the tags to do all sorts of things from opening apps to sending a text, all with the touch of my phone. You can use the adhesive & stick them to just about anything. Stick one on the fridge to open your weight planning app. Stick one on your dash to initiate bluetooth for music. I repeat... so freakin' cool! My only con about the tags themselves is that there is no place to write on them for what they do. Nine tags. If I don't label them, I might not remember what they do.
