Unboxing the Bizarre May 2016 Box
Many of us know about Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and even Ground Hog Day…but have you ever heard of Twilight Zone Day, Hug your Cat Day, or even Root Canal Day???
I love, love, love the concept of this box. If you've ever seen my House-Wise or Deer Tales facebook pages, you know I'm a HUGE fan of bizarre holidays! This box is so me.
We received the May box to review, and it's such a fun box!
The May box included:
- Darth Vader Blanket
- Swing Dance CD
- Astonaut Ice Cream
- Mini Golf Game
The box includes separate info cards which describe the item, the holiday, and why it was included in the monthly box.The first holiday we're celebrating this May is Star Wars Day! This is May 4.... You know, "May the fourth be with you".
Included in the box is a Duke Impirts Darth Vader Twin Size Blanket. This is sooooo soft! MSRP $44.95
Star Wars was created in 1977 (Am I really that old?) The info card tells all about Star Wars & how to celebrate this bizarre holiday.
To help celebrate this holiday, included is American Outdoor Products' Neapolitan Astronaut Ice Cream. MSRP $5.00
The first friday of the month is dedicated to promote STEM, and created in 1997 to celebrate the launching of Sputnik 1 in 1957 & Buzz Alrin's lunar landing in 1969.
I saw the Sputnik when we were at the museum in Indiana. So cool! I haven't tried the astronaut ice cream yet.......
In order to get in the spirit of the holiday, Unboxing the Bizarre sent a Desktop Mini-Golf game. MSRP $40.99
This is such a cute little golf game! I would prefer to go play mini golf, but when you can't, you can sit at your deck & hit the putter. It's so much better than raking sand to de-stress, don't you think?
OK. I suddenly don't feel so old. This was waaay before my time. The indy came out of Harlem in 1928. It's a mix of jazz, tap, breakaway, the Texas Tommy, the Charleston, and the Jitterbug.
So dance the night away on World Lindy Hop Day with the Dance Like There's No Tomorrow CD from Gothic Recording Swing Dance. MSRP $13.99
