Grey Ghost Bakery Review

This was the most delicious cookie review I have ever done!

Ok, so I've never done any other cookies reviews before. But when I do, they're gonna have to truly impress me after this. These cookies are a-maz-ing!

Grey Ghost Bakery opened in 2011. They’re a small family-owned baking company based in South Carolina, using the highest quality all natural ingredients to create made-from-scratch, hand-formed cookies in a range of truly addictive flavors.

Why the name Grey Ghost? The owner, Katherine named it after the legend of the Grey Ghost of Pawleys Island, SC. Legend has it that the Grey Ghost, a friendly spirit, appears to alert residents of impending storms and protects those who heed his warning.

Well, now that I devoured 2 more cookies while typing that, lets continue.....

They have several flavors:
Chocolate Chip
Peanut Butter
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip
Chocolate Cayenne
Cranberry Orange
Lemon Sugar
Cinnamon Pecan
Molasses Spice
Chocolate Espresso

They all are..... scrumptious! The cookies are moist, yet crisp. Practically oven fresh.

My favorite are the Chocolate Cayenne. A one of a kind tasty treat with a touch of heat. The cookie combines dark chocolate, smoked bacon from the Loveless Cafe in TN, and a touch of cayenne. Warning: These are addicting. Buy them on Amazon!

The Chocolate Espresso is a sophisticated, rich, and mellow cookie. A deep chocolate flavor with just a hint of espresso. Perfect with coffee or tea.

The Cinnamon Pecan are buttery cookies rolled in toasted pecans and cinnamon for a delicious crunch. I'd like to try these with some vanilla bean ice cream. Mmmm... I'm salivating here.

I have to say the Chocolate Chip weren't my favorite chocolate chip cookie I've ever had, but they were very good. I'd give these as a gift to anyone! They are made with a bittersweet chocolate which pairs well with the sugar crystals it's topped with.

The Lemon Sugar cookie was unlike any other cookie I've ever tasted. The tiny chunks of candied lemon zest was a wonderful surprise in my first bite. These cookies are sweet with pearlized sugar, but zesty enough with the lemon that they aren't too sweet. They taste like.... lemon. Yum!

These are minimally processed, non-GMO cane sugar & flour, and made with pure lemon & vanilla extracts.

The container the Lemon Sugar cookies came in is one of the optional sizes you can purchase. It's a 4 oz container, and contained 6 cookies. Their cookies are available by the dozen, in 4 oz cans, and in packages of 6 sample packs (sample packs contain 2 cookies each).

They have 2 varieties of Peanut Butter cookies. One with chocolate chips, one without.

I'm a big fan of peanut butter cookies. I enjoyed the ones with chocolate chips more. The bittersweet chocolate offset the peanutty flavor just right.

The cookies have more of a fresh peanut flavor. The real peanuts give it a different flavor than the common peanut butter cookie we're all used to.

The Cranberry Orange was a cookie that had been sent to me in a subscription box, which was actually my introduction to Grey Ghost Bakery.

It is a perfect fall/holiday cookie. It contains little bits of glazed orange peel & juice-infused cranberries. If you want to send a gift to someone next holiday season, I seriously recommend a dozen of these!

The last cookie is the Molasses Spice. These cookies are soft and even though they are coated with sugar, are not overly sweet. They have the right amount of spices which sit right in the back of your throat with a rich molasses flavor.

*Ahem* Excuse me while I go grab another cookie.....

This was sent in the dozen bag. The packaging on the cookies is very nice. Perfect for gift giving! All the cookies arrived whole, and in perfect condition. Surprising since it was shipped across the country.

Speaking of gift giving, they have some awesome gift boxes. Perfect for Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, birthdays, an office party, or just because. They are priced just right, and come in many different combinations.

Have a special event coming up? They offer special event labels (birthdays, holidays, baby showers, etc) and full customization of the front label of our single serving 2-pack. You can also get 3-dozen hand-packed cookies in a handsome, custom-printed corrugated shipper.

They have a full catalog you can download.

Grey Ghost Bakery cookies are not only available online, but in many retailers across the country. You can look up locations here.

If you love cookies, or if you want to gift someone cookies, try Grey Ghost Bakery. You'll love them!
