What will February bring?
February. The month of... snow. Lots of snow. And shoveling & hats & parkas, and.... Snowmen!
It's also National Chocolate Lovers Month. Oooh, I'm beginning to like February a bit more!Plus, it's National Snack Food Month. Yay snacks! I like snacks. Don't you?
It's also Return Shopping Carts to the Supermarket Month..... Ummm... OK. If you say so.
Washington's Birthday, Presidents Day is Monday, February 15, 2016. Do you have the day off?
Then there's one of my favorites.... Tuesday, February 2, 2016 is Groundhog Day! Will Phil see his shadow? Don't worry, every year he lies. ;-)
Tuesday, February 9, 2016 starts the Mardi Gras Carnival in New Orleans. When I went to New Orleans a few months ago, it was funny to see all the beads hanging from a couple of the trees. They keep them up there. It was cool. I have pictures..... somewhere.
Let's not forget Valentine's Day on Feb 14th. It would be really bad if you forgot! You might have an upset Other-Half if you did. It's on a Sunday this year. Go pick up some candy. Now!
Also on February 14th is National Condom Day. Hmmmm.... I wonder why?
Of course, this also means February 15th is Singles Awareness Day. *rolls eyes* On the more serious side, it's American Heart Month, from American Heart Association. Do your kids participate in Jump Rope for Heart?
February 13-19th is Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Week. Let's raise awareness for Muscular Dystrophy!
February is also my daughter's birthday. Happy 12th!
And, National Eating Disorders Awareness Week is February 23rd-Mar 1st.
February 3rd is "The Day the Music Died". Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper died in a plane crash in 1959. :-(
The first Saturday of month is Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. I can go for that!
February 9th is Toothache Day. Can I skip this one? I mean, really. Who's idea is this?!
And, February 20th is Walking the Dog Day. It's a special day that your dog looks forward to all year long! Wait. I have to walk my dog today? That like means, exercise. Ugh.
And this year we have a special day that only occurs every 4 years. That's right! It's Leap Year. So don't get confused on February 29th. It's a real date this year.
The Bird of the Month for February is the Sanderling. It's a shorebird at the beach. Have you ever seen one?
February seems like a busy month! But how about on House-Wise? Ohhh, yeah. Very busy!
