Target Beauty Box February 2016 Review

Target Beauty boxes aren't a subscription. They pop up on the site every month or two out of the blue. You have to grab one before they sell out. Sometimes they have one. Sometimes they have one for men, and one for women, sometimes they have more than one theme. The costs vary. I've seen them for $5, $7, and $10. Either way they sell out within hours, so you gotta get one quick! They are only sold online. This one cost $7.

The February box had 10 items:

  • Laneige BB Cushion
  • Mayfair Soap Foundry sea lily jasmine body crème
  • EcoTools EcoNet Recycled Bath Sponge
  • L’Oréal® Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It Air-Blown Texture Mist
  • SoapBox Conditioner – Coconut Oil
  • SoapBox Shampoo – Coconut Oil
  • Derma E Hydrating Night Crème with Hyaluronic Acid
  • Vera Wang Floral Eau De Toilette
  • Skinfix Lip Repair Balm
  • Incoco Nail Polish Applique
The Target Beauty Box's info card is very nice & informative. It lists each item included along with a description. Also on the card is a beauty coupon. This month it's another $3 off a $15 purchase. You can use these on the next Beauty box!

Let me start off my review by saying I'm reviewing the subscription box from an honest, normal consumer's opinion. I'm not reviewing the individual products in the box. I review the box so that you can decide if this is something you'd like to buy. As for the products, if a product stands out, good or bad, I will make a separate review for that product/brand.

The first product is Boost It Air-Blown Texture Mist. It's designed to give texture and volume to your roots without any stickiness. It has a pleasing scent, not like a 'hairspray'.

I don't use hair holding products, so this will be passed on.

Next is an EcoTools EcoPouf Mini Sponge. It's made with 100% recycled netting. This will definitely get used!

Also in this month's box is another BB Cushion sampler pack. We received one last month as well.

The sampler pack has 3 shades, light medium & dark, so you can choose which is right for you. I think this is an awesome concept for a foundation sample. The foundation has a slight scent. I don't wear foundation, but I might keep this 'just in case'.

The next item is Incoco Nail Polish Applique.

These are nail polish appliques made with real nail polish. They aren't stickers or decals, but are put onto your nail as a substitute for painting your nails. Each strip contains a base coat, a color coat, and a top coat. These are perfect for when you just don't have time to wait for polish to dry.

The polish strips are 3-free. Meaning they do not contain dbp, toluene, or formaldehyde.  I can't wait to try them! They are a pretty spring motif.

A sample of Derma e Hydrating Night Creme is also included this month. I have received 2 of these previously in my Birchboxes, but have yet to try it. I really sure, it's gotten great reviews.

The sample doesn't really say much about the product, such as ingredients. It's an ultra-hydrating vegan formula made with antioxidants, vitamins C & E, and aloe.

For some reason I really like the retro look of the packaging for the Mayfair Body Creme.

This is a deep hydrating formula with a blend of shea butter, safflower oil, & sunflower oil to nourish skin. It is paraben and phthalate free, not tested on animals, and made in the US. It has a sea lily jasmine scent. Quite flowery. I'm not into flowery.

The Vera Wang Embrace Eau de Toilette is next.

It's a 1.2ml sample of green tea & pear blossom. It's a small spray vial. The fragrance is light & not too flowery. I think the tea levels it out some.

I like little samples like this because I'm not a perfume girl, but occasionally I like a slight scent when leaving the house. I also like variety.

Target included a Skin Fix item this month. Yay! I have been thoroughly impressed with the last Skin Fix product they sent, and cannot wait to see if this one is just as good.

This Lip Repair Balm is a lightweight, yet deeply hydrating formula that soothes & softens dry lips for immediate relief.

There are no added flavors, colors, gluten, parabans, or phthalates. Contains coconut & jojoba oils.

The last items in the box are a shampoo & conditioner set from SoapBox.

These are both contain coconut oil and vitamins E & K. I love coconut. Unfortunately my shampoo leaked all over in the box. Not too much, but enough that everything is icky. But the scent is nice. ;-)

For every bottle sold, a month’s supply of clean water is given to a community in need through their partner Splsh. That's cool!

I love, love, love Target Beauty Boxes. For February, less that $7 bought me over $30 worth of beauty product. Sure, I won't use it all, but for what I will use, plus finding new brands is a win for me!

There is no set schedule for the release of the Tartget Beauty Boxes, but they are usually at the beginning of the month. They put up on their website spoilers for the contents a few days before release. When this happens I post, letting you know that they will be on sale within a couple days. Then they go live, usually early in the morning, I post, saying "Go NOW!" because these boxes sell out in record time; only available for a few hours. These are only available online, and not in the store.

Next time, go to  Target Beauty Box to order!
