Tiger Nuts Review

Tiger Nuts? What are Tiger Nuts?
Guess what. They're not nuts.

They are a tuber that grows below the ground's surface. They have all of the nutrients and energy benefits of nuts and then some, but without the stuff that can adversely affect allergies.

They are packed with fiber, vitamins and nutrients, and deliver a serious wallop of energy.

We received:
Premium Organic Tiger Nuts
Supreme Peeled Tiger Nuts
Premium Organic Tiger Nuts Flour

All are available for purchase online and in stores throughout the US. Plus they are available in the UK! (www.tigernutseurope.com )

I really liked the packaging of the products. The presentation is above par.

The Supreme Peeled Tiger Nuts are the first we tried. We didn't know what to expect when trying this product.

They look like a mix between puffed rice and swelled black eyed peas. They are soft yet crunchy with a slight coconut texture & flavor. At first I wasn't quite sure, but when I went back the second time, I decided I liked them. I have to say, my kids weren't as enamored. However, I can actually see myself snacking on these.

They say that eating a handful of Tiger Nuts and then drinking some water will help to seriously curb your appetite. Hmmm... Sounds good to me!

The next one we tried was the Raw Premium Organic Tiger Nuts.

These are darker, crunchier, and have an almond flavor. If you are allergic to almonds, this would be a great substitution. I like these as a snack, however, I'm having a hard time with the 'husk' when eating them. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong & was supposed to peel them, soak them, or something. I don't know. But the flavor is really nice. I was thinking they might be good atop a salad instead of almonds.

The RAW GLUTEN FREE Tiger Nuts are grown organically and harvested in the fields of Spain. That's really interesting!

I have been away from my kitchen, so I haven't had a chance to try the Tiger Nuts Four.  It's great for baking bread, cakes, cookies, and more. I can't wait to try it. When I do, I'll post a mini-review on it.

You can go one their website & blog, and find some recipes too, such as:
Chocolate Amaretti Tiger Nut Cake
Tiger Nuts Kisses
Tiger Nuts Milk

The milk sounds good. I think these would make a great tasting milk!

Tiger Nuts are Vegan. In addition they are are Gluten Free, Organic, Allergen Free, Dairy Free, High in Fiber, Low in Calories & Fats, Non GMO, and Paleo Perfect. Talk about healthy!

Tiger Nuts are definitely for health-minded people! Healthy, delicious, and a convenient snack.

If you have not enjoyed Tiger Nuts before, you may be surprised to find out that they have been around for over 4000 years and were the primary source of food of our Cavemen ancestors, according to a study by Oxford University.

You can find Tiger Nuts at retail health food partners across the US, please see the store locator by clicking here.

If you are health-conscious, and like trying new & different foods, I say give these a go. You might find your new favorite snack! Tiger Nuts are probably the "Healthiest single source snack food on the market".
