Sweet Organic Box February 2016 Review

This was my first taste of The Sweet Organic Box. I found it a great concept. a box-full of organic treats. Yum!

When you sign up for The Sweet Organic Box, every month you will receive a box of carefully selected organic products such as snacks, coffee, tea, cookies, chocolates and much more sweet surprises.

Peanuts. Lots & lots of peanuts!
Let me start off my review by saying I'm reviewing the subscription box from an honest, normal consumer's opinion. I'm not reviewing the individual products in the box. I review the box so that you can decide if this is something you'd like to subscribe to. As for the products, if a product stands out, good or bad, I will make a note, or separate review for that product/brand.

The first thing I noticed, was that the box is quite large. Big boxes make me happy!

Included on the top of the treats was a welcome note. It explains that all the products in the box do not contain any harmful additives, GMO's, synthetic pesticides, hormones, artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. These organic snacks are not just sweet, but also healthy & kind to your body.  That's quite a lot to live up to. I have to say tho, the font looks like a scraggly handwriting & isn't complementary. Otherwise, it's a nice touch.

I really would have liked to have an info card. Info cards are very professional, describing the products in the box, and letting me know that I got everything I should. Without an info card, it just looks like a bunch of stuff was tossed into a box. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, I'm just saying that's what I prefer. Plus, as a reviewer, I don't know if everyone receives the same as me.

This box had 9 items. (I counted the 5 packs of fruity hearts as 1 product.)

The first thing I noticed was a full-size package of organic coffee. Coffee. I love coffee. You can win my heart with coffee.

This 12oz package in from Growers Alliance Coffee Company in Jacksonville. This is an Ethiopian Roasted Whole Bean.

This coffee is Organic and fair trade certified.  Gormet quality, shade grown, award winning 100% arabica beans.

I usually prefer flavored coffee, but this smells real good. I'll have to dig out my coffee grinder & french press for this!

Late July

The next item in the box is a snack-size package of mini cheddar cheese crackers from Late July Organic.

These are produced without synthetic pesticides, are non-GMO, and have no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.

Next up are two bars.

The first is Nature's Path Organic Chunky Chocolate Peanut.  This is a full-size chewy granola bar. It is gluten-free and wheat free with 12g whole grains. It contains 3g protein, 140 calories, and 2g fiber.

The second bar is from Pure Organic. I've had Pure Organic bars before & I like them. This chocolate brownie bar is dark organic cocoa & walnuts with omega-3s and antioxidants. It's a full-size bar that is gluten-free & vegan.

Go Organic hard candies and Ocho Candy are up next.

Go Organic hard candies are popular in subscription boxes. This is my 3rd bag. But they are so yummy!  These are cherry flavored. The flavors of these are more true than regular candies. These are made with only organic cane juice, organic brown rice syrup, citric acid, and natural cherry flavor. Go Organic hard candies come in 9 flavors. These are also gluten-free.

The Ocho Organic Candy Bar is new to me. This is peanut butter covered in milk chocolate. Sounds yummy. I can't wait to try it! This is an 8pk.

I am pleased to receive another mint hot chocolate packet from NibMor.  You add the packet to 1 cup hot milk, or coconut milk for a richer taste.  This is organic, ethically traded, and fair trade certified.

Theo is also new to me. This is a big candy bar at 3oz! And it's cherry? Yes, please! Made with 45% milk chocolate with dried sour cherries & freeze-dried cherries. Oh my, I feel like Homer Simpson drooling over here. It contains 71% fair trade ingredients, and obviously is organic.

The last ite in the box were 5 packets of Surf Sweets. This is why I like info cards, to me it seemed like they threw a bunch of these into the box to fill space. Granted I like chewy candy, but I also like a variety, which is why I get subscription boxes.

These are cherry & watermelon flavored. Yum! They are made with organic fruit juice, are corn syrup free, soy free, gluten free, vegan, and have no artificial flavors or colors.

I'm very pleased with the box!

Overall I think the product curation is very nice and meets the mark. They did a very good job at varying the products from chocolates, to hard candies, to drink mix, to even crackers. I have to be honest, I know that organic products are pricy, but $45 seems a bit steep for a monthly box. Although, taking into consideration that shipping is included... (ugh, I hate shipping costs).

If you want to discover new organic treats, this box is definitely worth looking into. The Sweet Organic Box is filled with yumminess. I wouldn't mind trying another box myself. Everything here will get eaten!

It also makes a great gift. ;-)
