Special Recall Alert

NHTSA announced that Evenflo Company, Inc. is recalling over 56,000 Transition 3-in-1 Combination Booster Seats. The booster seats are being recalled because the child can loosen the seat's harness, while in the car seat, which could lead to an increased risk of injury to the child in the event of a crash.
If you have registered your Evenflo car seat, the company will notify you of this recall and send you a free remedy kit that includes a newly-designed seat pad and CFA assembly. Owners may contact Evenflo at: www.transitions.evenflo.com or 1-800-233-5921.
Please circulate this email to parents, grandparents and friends to make sure that children are kept safe, and tell them to sign up for Safe Kids bimonthly recall emails to be the first to know about children’s product recalls! The next recall email comes out Tuesday March 1!

Tweet fellow parents how to learn about recalls:
  • Have an Evenflo Transition 3-in-1 booster seat car seat? Check to see if it was #recalled http://bit.ly/24t2msx

Recalls are important. Less than half of the car seats purchased are registered, making it difficult to reach every car seat owner and putting kids at risk. Last year, Safe Kids released "Car Seat Recalls: What Every Parent Needs to Know", urging parents to take the following steps regarding every car seat.
  • Register: Register your car seat as soon as you buy it. The postage-paid registration card is attached in the front of the car seat. Your information cannot be used for any purpose other than notifying you of a recall. You can also register online with the manufacturer or on NHTSA's safercar.gov. If you didn’t register it when you bought it, you can still do so.
  • Act: If you learn that your car seat was recalled, act on it by making the fix recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Make Sure It's Installed Right: Check here to find an event near you where your seat can be inspected to ensure it is correctly installed.
