It states that results are fast with an average 10 to 25 seconds. I found it took about 30 seconds orally. It beeps when done. It has a soft beep, but it beeps for quite a while before it stops on it's own.

When you turn it on, the display shows along with your last temp taken. The 'L' appears, and the "F" flashes. This means you are ready to go.  It measure in F or C degrees. It's been tested in laboratory conditions to be accurate within 0.2 degrees F. It seemed pretty accurate the few times I tried it.

It has a large lighted LCD Display - visible in dark room which is good because you don't want to wake up a sick child by having to turn on the light.

This thermometer has a flexible tip. This makes it safe and painless for wiggly babies & kids. You don't have to worry about jabbing them with the hard tip. It's kind of weird feeling & takes time to get used to.

It's waterproof, so you don't have to worry when you drop it in the sink or bath. It's also comes with plastic case for easy carrying in purse or diaper bag. The case fits snuggly & doesn't fall off like other thermometers I've had. It's also one piece. No cap to lose.
