Haus & Garten Pruning Shears Review

We reviewed a pair of the Haus & Garten Pruning Shears.

"Made for Professional & Home Use These Classic Style Heavy-Duty Pruners Are The Choice for the Toughest Gardening Challenges. Built for Hard Use, These Titanium Blade Pruning Shears Have a Smooth, Precise Cutting Action & Are Designed to Deliver Maximum Force with Minimum Pressure. Strong & Powerful to Tackle Tree Branches, Shrubs, Hedges & Orchards, Whilst Still Precise Enough For The Most Delicate Pruning of Rose Stems, Bonsai, Ornamentals & Flowers. Ideal Pruner for Men, Women & Arthritis Sufferers."

This is a very, very nice bypass hand pruner. I've always bought mediocre ones and have been disappointed. These have a very comfortable anti-slip handle and it didn't give my hand cramps after using them for a while.

They are made with drop forged aluminum body & handles. These do not feel flimsy in my hands at all. Even though they are light enough to use for an extended period of time without causing hand strain, they are hefty. I can really tell the difference between these & the cheap ones I've been using.

The blade is coated high-tempered carbon steel titanium. They are sharp, sharp, sharp! They have a deep sap groove that prevents sticking & keeps the blade clean after each cut. I have never seen this before, and since our evergreens are very sappy, I think I may end up liking this feature a lot over the spring.

The cutting size diameter is 1/2 - 3/4 Inch up to 1 Inch. I don't know. Although it sliced through smaller branches like buttah, it sure was difficult for thicker ones. We'll have to see come later in the spring when it's warmer & I'm doing more yard work.

The pruner comes with an integrated wire cutting notch. It also has a lock to keep them closed. 'Cuz baby, these things could cut a finger off, and you don't want that! Although it works, it's only a tiny flap, and I don't feel too confident with it. I had a hard time getting mine to lock at first, but is working fine now.

The package comes with an adjustment tool. You can use this to adjust the cut of the blade and also to loosen or tighten the screws of your pruner when disassembling it for cleaning and maintenance.

All-in-all, I think these are great, and I'm going to be enjoying my lanscapig chores a lot more with these!
