I know, it sounds silly. A ropeless jump rope. But right now I can really use one while my basement is getting redone (thanks to a flood). For now, my 'workouts' are done in my bedroom. It's a tiny space, and some of my DVD's have me jumping rope. I was pretending, but that's just lame. With a ropeless jump rope, you get the feel of actually jumping rope, plus it's weighted, so you're actually doing more for your arms than when pretending.

The handles are made of elastic sponge and fit your hands nicely with a soft grip. The smoothed steel tips make the jump rope spin much smoother and faster. Each handle contains a removable 3 oz. weight, total weight of 0.68 lbs, which can speed up the spinning. I'm not sure why you'd want to remove it, but it's there. Because it's ropeless, this jump rope won't kink and it fits all heights of people. It's easily and quickly adjustable to your desired length.

Honestly, it takes a bit to get used to. You don't have the rope to guide you, but once you get the hang of it, it's really cool. It comes with a carrying/storage bag which is nice because I like to keep all my fitness equipment away from dust & animal dander.

It doesn't substitute real jumping rope, but it's a good stand-in for when using a real jump rope isn't practical.

Rope jumping improves cardiovascular health as it improves heart beat rate. Rope jumping is one of the best cardio and HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) workout.
