AboveTEK Tablet/Phone Goose-neck Arm

We reviewed AboveTEK's Heavy Duty Aluminum Alloy Gooseneck Arm Smartphone and Tablet Desktop Bolt Clamp Mount Set.

Since I use my tablet & phone along with my computer, I am always looking for convenient ways to hold them without using my hands. Especially my phone since the antenna doesn't like it when I hold it. I have to put my phone away from my body to get a signal. A PITA to say the least. But phone holders are great for this. However, this unit is so large & sturdy, it's more for a tablet holder. And I LOVE it! It does have some cons though.

This product comes with three device holders. A 5-inch, 8-inch, and 10-inch swivel holders suitable for smartphones and tablets like iPhone 6+, iPad mini, iPad Air, Samsung S6, Samsung, and Kindle.  This is the only thing of the product I find cumbersome. If you are only going to use the gooseneck for one electronic, than this is OK, because they are a better fit than a universal holder. But, if you plan on using it for say a 10"tablet AND your phone, you have to switch out the holder.

The gooseneck arm has a rubber-padded metal bolt clamp. It easily attaches on desktop, coffee table, study table, bedside table, and other flat edges without damaging the furniture's surface. It really is heavy duty, and is easy to install. This thing is so sturdy, I would trust it with the heaviest of tablets, and the wildest of kids. This clamp is something you could use for a workshop tool. It clamps firmly and stands on desktop without shaking or slipping.

While the design is nice, it does look more industrial because the goose-neck & clamp are metal. The phone & tablet holders themselves are white. It would be kind of odd in a non-office environment, like your livingroom or bedroom.

The gooseneck itself is tough & quite sturdy, but adjusts freely. It is flexible & bendable in almost any position you'd need. It also has 360-degree rotatable swivel device holders so your tablet or phone is even more positional.

The product dimensions are 12.6 x 4.7 x 2 inches. The unit is quite large. It is not indiscreet.

If you like the industrial look, and are going to use this mainly with just one device, I highly recommend this holder. It  is the toughest, and stablest tablet holder I have ever run across. It's a great product, but it could use just a little tweaking.
