Osaka Jar, Self-Sealing Jar Review

Keep your coffee, or anything else you wish protected from air, heat, light and moisture. Self-sealing technology that is easy to use. We bought the black one to match our kitchen. It's a nice modern design, and the red has a nice pop of color.

You can use for Coffee Beans, Coffee Grounds, Sugar, Tea Leaves and even Hot Foods. I am going to be using it for my sugar next to my coffee pot.

The capacity says 13.5oz. But a 12oz bag of coffee beans doesn't fit, so I'm wondering if this is fluid ounces. A misnomer since it's specifically sold for keeping your coffee beans fresh.

The Jar is made from Ceramic and the lid from Silicone. It is heat-resistant and sturdy. It is dishwasher safe, and I like that. However, it will allow any CO2 build-up to be released without allowing in any oxygen.
The seal of this jar is pretty cool! Just place the lid on the jar and press down lightly on both sides to create an airtight seal. The seal is so strong that you can lift the whole jar just by the lid. To release the seal just push the knob slightly to the side. It's a very strong seal, and I definitely wouldn't worry about any ants or fruit flies getting into it. I also would think it might hold if it got knocked over on the counter. It does take a bit to get used to. I kept trying to pull to top straight off, and it doesn't work like that.

I like this jar as a jar. It's a nice design, a deep black, and the airtight lid is just awesome. It is a bit smaller than I thought it would be.
