I'll tell you upfront, I'm very disappointed in Beauty Brands. Not for what I received, but for their lying, deceitful practices & ill-regard towards their customers. Now, with that out of the way, here's my review.....

I found a great deal online from My Subscription Addiction, a blog I visit frequently since getting interested in subscription boxes. The deal was, a Holiday Hair Care Bag worth $100+ for $10, $5.95 shipping, and using the EC11804 coupon to get $5 off, the bag came to $11.28 (with tax) shipped from Beauty Brands.

I had never ordered from Beauty Brands, but it looked like a great deal. Plus, they have free samples you can add to your order, and when you check out, you can also add 3 additional samples. So I got 5 samples total in addition to the bag. Woot! Hmmmm..... Not so fast.


I received my bag. It is a sturdy canvas & clear bag. Mustard yellow. [Insert gag sound], but I won't complain. I will end up using this "Made in China" bag for something. I love bags.

The bag came stuffed. This picture on the left only shows a few things from the order. I was actually pretty happy with my purchase, until I realized everything wasn't there.

I was missing 3 of the full-size products. Even if those items were not missing, there is no way this bag is worth $100+ as promised. I was not the only one missing these products. Some people got everything as promised. Many did not. Others have done the calculations with the missing products, and using max amounts of product costs, the value of this Hair Care Bag is approximately $38.


I was missing:

– SEXY HAIR BIG SEXY HAIR ROOT PUMP VOLUMIZING SPRAY MOUSSE
 – TIGI BED HEAD SLICK TRICK FIRM HOLD POMADE

Now, on their website, it did state "Items may vary". That's cool. I would have been quite alright with substitutions to the missing items. As long as the value is comparable.

So, I contacted Beauty Brands. I received the same canned letter as everyone else which was pretty much a "Too bad, so sad" response. When I went onto their website, I noticed that they CHANGED their  description. It now sported a "May include" in bold lettering. That was NOT there when I first ordered. It had said "Includes". Talk about deceiving. Many who paid with paypal are disputing.

On to the included contents.....

Hair clips, travel hairbrush & scrubbie. I will use all of these. The clips will come in handy when trying to comb out my daughter's dry snarled hair. The brush. The car of course! Although this isn't the labeled "loofa", it is a bath scrubbie, and will be used.

The samples. Quite a few foil packets. They are one-timers. I keep a basket of samples in the bath for either guests, or for when I run out of my normal product & need something quick, so their useful.

A small OPI nail polish in a french manicure pink. It will be used.

A bottle of dry shampoo will be given to my son. We're trying dry shampoos on his extremely oily hair since nothing.... I mean nothing is working.

It's a 10 Miracle leave-in will definitely be used, or at least tried. With the very, very dry Colorado air, me & my daughter's hair is just horribly dry & I'm always trying new products looking for something that actually works!

Sexy hair Leave-in conditioner, will also be sampled for the same dry air reasons. The thickening treatment? Ummmm.... Not sure. LOL 

Overall, I am please with my $11 purchase. Had the company not blown their customers off, and changed their description, I probably would have ordered from them again. But as it stands now, they have lost a potential returning customer due to their poor customer relations.
