Treatsie Introductory Box Review

This is my second box from Treatsie. I'm a bit confused as to the box I received. I'm guessing it has to do with the coupon code I used when signing up. I signed up in mid-January using a free box offer (just pay $4.95 shipping) that was advertised on facebook. I thought I'd be receiving the January box. I did not. I contacted customer support, and this was their reply, "What you received were an assortment of items that customers loved over the past few months. Your box is an introductory to our services and we wanted to share with you a variety, as we would each month, that we feel would deliver great expectation." OK, I'll accept that. However, I'm still disappointed I didn't get the January box. It looked so yummy!

The box is packed in tissue paper & paper crimps. It's a very pretty presentation. Plus, everything was cushioned well to prevent breakage.

I did not receive an info card. Which of course was why I was confused as to what box I received. Usually their boxes contain a nicely printed card.

Hard Candies

I received the Treatsie Variety Pack of hard candies in my December box. They are tiny, but very flavorful. My daughter squealed in excitement to get more, she likes them that much. They are from Raleys Confectionary in Florida. The flavors are lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, pomegranite, banana, rootbeer, blueberry, cherry, raspberry, watermelon, tutti-frutti, strawberry, mango, & kiwi. whew! The candies have designs to show what flavor it is.

Chuao & Annie B's
I received in this box 2 flavors of Chuao chocolates. I received some of these as well in my December box. They are really tasty!

Annie B's caramels. The best caramels I think I've ever had! I've tasted 6 flavors of Annie B's caramels so far and have loved every one, especially the sea salt & raspberry. You can buy them in bulk online or in 'gift packs' at local stores. Yup, I looked for a local store in my area & I can't wait for the next time I go to the city to get some!

Grey Ghost Cookies
The last item in the box was a package of cookies from Grey Ghost Bakery. The flavor I received was Cranberry Orange. One of my favorite fall flavor combos. At first bite I was taken aback. The glazed orange peel & juice infused cranberries seemed quite strong. But by the second bite, I was hooked! These are the best commercial cookies I have EVER had! They are made with real cane sugar, & butter. I went & checked out their website and they sell dozen packs, sample packs, & even gift subscription boxes. Oooooh! I am so ordering the 3 month sub. Each month you get 3 dozen of their cookies. One dozen of each flavor. I'm just waiting for a coupon. (*hint, hint* Grey Ghost Bakery!)

Overall I love Treatsie's curation. However, this in particular box was a disappointment because 2 of the 4 items I received, I had already gotten in my December box.  The Annie B's caramels I had received in my Love with Food box this month so I had had them before. I was really looking forward to trying the toffee & other items in the January box, which is why I signed up for the month. I wish Treatsie would have disclosed the type of box you'd get with the coupon.

I do think Treatsie is a good subscription. Small-batch business' treats aren't something you get when shopping mainstream, so it's nice to get to try something new & special that you'd normally not know about. I think a subscription would be a great gift for someone for Valentine's Day, or a birthday.
