JackedPack January 2016 Subscription Box Review

I have been receiving Jacked Pack for 4 months now. I used the TRY3MONTHS coupon to get $5 off those first 3 months. I've never actually calculated the value of these boxes. But I might research this one, just to see. I've always liked what was included in this subscription. If you don't have a specific brand, or buy in bulk, but you're into pre- & post-workout powders, supplements, & energy items, this box is for you.

This box came with 6 items. That's about average for Jacked Pack.
Included were:
  • AST Sports Science VP2 Whey Isolate
  • BPI 1.M.R Vortex
  • Cellucor Alpha Amino
  • MuscleMeds Secret Sauce
  • Promax Original
  • ProSupps Mr. Hyde
Their informational card is well done. It explains each item thoroghly. On the back of the card is usually a monthly contest. Also included in the box are advertizements & coupons.

Let me start off my review by saying I'm reviewing the subscription box from an honest, normal consumer's opinion. I'm not reviewing the individual products in the box. I review the box so that you can decide if this is something you'd like to subscribe to. As for the products, if a product stands out, good or bad, I will make a separate review for that product/brand.

The first 2 items in the box are the Secret Sauce & VP2

MuscleMeds Secret Sauce is a bioactive post-workout formula. It contains pharmaceutical grade BSA (Bovine Serum Albumin. It's derived from bovine blood plasma. It also contains chromium, potassium, cre3 Creatine Complex, and a bunch of other things that I don't know what they are. This 2.49oz packet is one serving. You mix it with 12oz water. It's punch flavored. I think I might pass this on to someone a little more knowledgeable about amino acids & these ingredients.

The VP2 Why Protein Isolate is a protein powder. This packet is one serving, and is Double Rich Chocolate. It has 23g protein, 230mg potassium, 90mg calcium, and 1g sugar. I would use this, but unfortunately the seal on my package is damaged & the powder is everywhere. This isn't the fault of JackedPack, it just happens sometimes in shipping.

The next items were Mr. Hyde ProSupps & BPI 1.M.R Vortex.

The ProSupps is a pre-workout. It contains leucine, stimulants, agmatine sulfate, thermogenic compounds, and creatine nitrate. In other words, it's intense energy for your workout. This packet is one serving and green apple flavor. It has 419mg caffeine, so don't take it before bedtime. ;-)

I received 2 packets of the Vortex. One Fruit Punch, one Blueberry Lemon Ice. Each packet is 2 servings. These are a pre-training powder. You blend it in 6-8oz of water or your choice of beverage. It's for energy & performance. This contains caffeine. It's really hard to read the back label on these packets, so I'll have to go online to look them up.

The last 2 items are the Promax bar & Alpha Aminos.

The Promax bar is your standard protein bar. 20g protein, 18 vitamins & minerals, 25g sugar (wow), & 7g fiber. This is a heafty 2.64oz Greek Yogurt Honey Flavored bar that rings in at 280 calories. This is definitely not your everyday snack bar. Good for if you're working out hard tho!

The Alpha Aminos is a sports drink powder. It contains 14 amino acids. Aminos are important because most people don't get them all from just food alone. They are the key to muscle building. Since this states "Sample", I do not consider it adding to the actual monitary value of the box. But, I do consider it value since JackedPack did acquire it, and shipped it. Do not take this if you take nitrates, or are pregnant. A lemon lime sports powder is a nice change from chocolate or vanilla protein powders.

Overall I like Jacked Pack. I get it because I haven't found a brand I want to stick with, and this gives me the opportunity to try many without forking out $30-$120 just to try something I may not like.
