HempBox January 2016 Subscription Box Review

I have received two HempBoxes so far. I initially tried them out because I had a really good coupon, and I'm trying to steer in the direction of more natural products. It sounded interesting, so I ordered. After receiving my first box which I liked, HempBox had a technical issue that they couldn't solve, so members received a 50% off coupon. Hellya, I went for another box! This is the second subscription box sent to me. January.

They have standard subscription box packaging. Products wrapped in tissue paper, with an info card inside the shipping box. The box is rather small, but it is filled.

I have been informed by them that the info cards are printed on hemp paper! This also jacks up their printing costs to an insane amount. That's too bad that it's more expensive for a tree paper alternative. But kudos for them for doing it!

There were 5 items in this box, plus a 20% off coupon to RealHemp.

Box contents
The box included:
  • Rad Soap Co -Toke Xtreme Cream
  • Twenty-4 Zen -Cinnamon Crunch Granola w/Hemp
  • Real Hemp -Botanical Pomegranate Lip Balm
  • Vega Snack Bar -Dark  Chocolate Cashew Cherry
  • Buffalo Gal Grassfed Beauty -Hand Salve-ation

The items are a nice variety of food & body care.

Granola
Info card

Yum. I can't wait to try this. The bag took up most of the box. It's 2 oz. The little sticker on the front says "with hemp", but it is not listed in the ingredients. Hmmm...

Toke Xtreme Cream
The Rad Soap Co Toke Xtreme Cream is a small container of body cream. There is no info on the container, but they sent a card with it to explain what it is! My hubby has really bad eczema so I'll give this to him to see if it helps. I'd rather him use this than the prescription cream..

I can't wait to try the pomegranate lip balm. I recently threw away all those cheap flavored chap-stick like tubes that are so popular at Christmas. I also tossed the ones that were just an inclusion of ingredients I couldn't read. We use lip balm a lot around here. The dry, acrid Colorado air is just hell on your skin! It will be nice to have something new to replace what I just threw away.

The Vega snack bar is going right in my stash for car trips to the city. Cashews, cherries & dark chocolate. Sounds good.
I was so excited to get the Buffalo Gal hand salve in my box. Sqeeeee! I had looked this up online not too long ago, but couldn't justify the cost of a full-size, not knowing if it was as good as I had heard. So, now I get to try it! As I've mentioned, the air is so dry, my once soft & smooth Florida skin looks like an 80 year-old lady, and I have been trying everything I can to help it. I hate lotions. I detest oils. This is a dry stick. The only problem I forsee is it has Melaleuca oil in it, and Melaleuca trees give me headaches. I don't know if it's the same thing. But, yay! I'm so happy to try it!

Overall I'm very pleased with this month's box, as I was with last month's. I hope their boxes continue to be as well curated as this.

If you like natural products, or are curious about the hemp sensation that is gaining popularity, try these guys out. They are the only ones out there with this kind of box. Sign up. You can cancel any time with a click of a button.
