SnackSack January 2016 Subscription Box Review

Once again, I'm in love with my SnackSack box. I haven't calculated the value of the box, but when I compare it to other $23 boxes, SnackSack blows them away! However, I did notice they just increased their prices. I know that it's part of the economy & must be done, but I was bummed. The boxes are now $24.95. Still a great deal, but a tad bit out of my budget with all my other boxes.

SnackSack has a number of different ordering options. You can order once a month, twice, 4x a month, 8, or even 12 times a month! That's a lot of snacks. You can pay month-to-month, or prepay 3 & 6 months at a time for a discount. I had initially ordered a 3-month sub, and this is my second box.

First thing you notice is that the box you get isn't one of these small boxes. I's a good size. Once you open it, you have what appears to be a pretty full box of snacks, a coupon or two, and the info card.

The Snack Sack
As you start taking out the bags & bars, you come across the burlap sack. The sack is stuffed with even more goodies!

I love the burlap sack. Not only does it make this box stand out, it adds to the surprise, and it's reusable!

The info cards included are very nicely done. Colorful & informative. Thy tell you if the product is non-GMO, Gluten Free, & vegan. I received everything on the card.
Info card

January's box included 14 items:
  • Chosen Foods Chia Bites
  • Fly Joy Peanut Butter Jelly Time
  • Real Deal White Cheddar Veggie Chips
  • Flamous Spicy Falafel Chips
  • Nibmor Cherry Chocolate Bar
  • Oogie's Tomato & Parm popcorn
  • IHeartKeenwah Quinoa Clusters
  • TruJoy Sweet Fruity Chews
  • Oogie's Chipotle Lime Popcorn
  • Rawxies Lemon Poppy Seed Cookie
  • Laiki Red Rice Crackers
  • Gorilly Goods Fruit & Nuts
  • Sensible Foods
  • Roasted Edamame
  • Munk Pack Blueberry Acai Squeeze
Oogie's & Real Deal

The first items are Oogie's Popcorn & Real Deal Veggie Chips.  The popcorn will go to my daughter & hubby. They really like popcorn & have been trying all these funky flavors lately. My hubby loves sun-dried tomato, so this is great.

The veggie chips are a 100 calorie bag, made with peas, corn meal, cheddar, and other ingredients I can actually read. Green chips with cheddar flavor. Hmmm.... I'll have to work up to trying these. ;-)

FlyJoy, Rawxies, & TruJoy
I've had these chew candies before. They are so much better than the Starbursts we grew up with. They are softer & have a truer flavor. They are non-GMO, gluten free, and vegan.

FlyJoy ancient grains energy bar. A 1.5oz peanut butter & jelly bar with 5g protein, 5g fiber, only 8g sugar, and 190 calories. It contains chia, quinoa, & flax. This will go right in my stash of bars for trips to the city, or when I forget to eat. It's different than the standard chocolate & pb ones, and I like that!

Rawxies lemon poppy seed "clean" treat. I actually cannot wait to try this! All natural ingredients & full of vitamins & minerals.
Oogie's & Laiki

Next comes another Oogie's popcorn. I'm not a fan of poporn, so two in one box.... Meh, the male & mini-me will enjoy it. I can't hog everything for myself, right? ;-) This one is spicy chipotle & lime. Sounds yummy (if it wasn't popcorn-lol).

Laiki red rice crackers. 3 ingredients...rice, oil, salt & nothing else. I like crackers. I'm looking forward to this snack!

Flamous & IHeartKeenwah

Next comes Flamous organic spicy falafel chips. All I can say is, "Intersting". It says they are the chip for hummus dip. I don't have hummus, wonder if they'll be good on their own? They're a corn & bean chip. They contain tumeric & dehydrated vegetables.

The Quinoa Clusters looks good. A nice little packaged snack for on the go.... or for sitting at the computer. Much healthier than M&Ms! ;-)

Sensible Foods & Chosen Foods

Next in the box was a .65oz bag of Roasted Edamame. These contain edamame & salt, nothing else. Yum.

Then there is the Chi-chi-chi-chia bites. Yes, every time I see the word "Chia", my mind plays the old Chia Pet jingle in my head. These are full of nuts & seeds. Vanilla flavor. These will be put at the top of my snack stash. They look tasty.

Nibmor, Munk Pack, & Gorilly Goods

My daughter snatched the oatmeal fruit squeeze & said, "Mine!". I guess she's claimed it. That's OK, this whole new squeezable fad has me perplexed. I mean sure, if I was going on a hike, I would definitely pack one of these in my Camelbak. Oatmal, fruit, flax & acai. Simple.

The chocolate cherry Nobmor bar looks yummy. A nice healthy treat to replace some of the Christmas candy I have stashed.

The Gorilly Goods fruit & nut pack is right up my alley. A perfect snack for when I come inside after working out on the homestead. Ingredients I can read.

Fourteen snacks varying from salty, to savory, to sweet. I think the curation of the SnackSack boxes is wonderful. They give you a mixture of different types of snacks to appease any pallet. My entire family will enjoy something out of this box.

What I love most about this box is everything is a healthier version of the snacks you normally buy. You like chips, but can't read the chemically labels and have stopped buying them, but miss them? No fear! Chips made healthier with ingredients you can read, and out of ingredients that are better for you.

At even the new price of $25, I think SnackSack is an awesome subscription! I say, if you are looking for healthy snacks, this is your must have box!
