Bulu Weight-Loss January 2016 Subscription Box

Let me start off my review by saying I'm reviewing the subscription box from an honest, normal consumer's opinion. I'm not reviewing the individual products in the box. I review the box so that you can decide if this is something you'd like to subscribe to. As for the products, if a product stands out, good or bad, I will make a separate review for that product/brand.

This is my second month getting both the original Bulu Box, and the Weight-Loss Bulu Box. They're  small boxes, but packed with samples to try geared towards health & fitness. I used a 50% off coupon & get both boxes for the price of one. Check out our coupon page for current coupons!

Bulu Boxes come with printed informational cards. They explain what the product is, and how much it costs to order the full-size. Once you try the samples, you go to your account & ean points for each sample review. You can then use those points towards ordering the full-size products you like. You earn about half the cost of the box back every month in points! It's a great system for the consumer.

January includes 5 items, plus 3 bonus samples:
  • Complete Energy Bites
  • MealEnders
  • Shapeology Burn Blend
  • Smarty Pants Adult Complete + Fiber
  • Tiger Balm Ultra Strength Pain Relieving Ointment
  • Bonus: Energems
  • Bonus: Caveman Bars
  • Bonus: NeoCell Beauty Infusions
Orange is Bulu's color. The box contents come wrapped in orange tissue paper. Like I said, the box is small, but filled.

Most everything in the weight-loss box is geared towards losing weight. Nutritional supplements, appetite suppressants, and energy snacks.

Complete

This is my 3rd box of Complete Energy Bites. Each box I've received, the box has come unglued. The chews themselves are sealed, so no problem. Just thought I'd mention that.

I haven't had a chance to try them yet because I just started some new meds that make me jittery & I'm not supposed to use any type of 'energy' stimulant. Unfortunately the expiry date is February, so I probably won't have a chance to try them. One week before they officially expire is not professional at all. However, if I wasn't taking my meds, I could try them immediately & it wouldn't be a problem.

Meal Enders
Meal Enders. These are a "signaling lozenge'. It is supposed to clear cravings when a sweet tooth hits, or you want a second helping. It's supposed to last 20 minutes. They are low-calorie (15) & stimulant free. I received 4 flavors: Chocolate Mint, Citrus, Cinnamon, & Mocha. I will definitely keep these on hand.

Shapelogy

The next item in the box are Shapeology's Burn Blend. Each packet has 2 capsules, which is 1-2 servings.  These supposedly mimic the effects of a high metabolism to help you burn calories & lose weight.

Smarty Pants

I've had these vitamins before from a previous sub box. They are quite tasty. They're a bit higher in the % daily value than most gummy vitamins. I may save up my points to buy these. They are expensive ($47.95/30 servings). The thing I don't like is Smarty Pants only puts 2 gummies in the package, but a serving is 6 (3 packages). That's just dumb.

I did not receive my sample of Tiger Balm Ultra Strength Pain Relieving Ointment. It happens occasionally in subscription boxes. I mean they hand-pack hundreds, sometimes thousands. I will email them& let them know it was missing. I've had great experience with Bulu Customer service before!
Energems

One of the bonus items was Energems. These contain caffeine & vitamins B & D. I received Dark Chocolate, Dark Chocolate Mint, and Berry flavored Dark Chocolate. I have a couple more of these in my energy stash & I can't wait to try these on those afternoons when I'm dragging butt!

Bonus items
The last 2 bonus items were a teeny-tiny Caveman Bar, and a packet of NeoCell Beauty Infusions.

The Caveman bar is .70oz., about 1/2 a regular sized bar. It packs a whopping110 calories, with only 2g protein & 2g fiber. It's called a "nutrition bar', but I'm not seeing anything stand out ecept 4% iron & 2% calcium. It's made with nuts & seeds. It's more of a snack bar.

The Beauty Infusion drink powder has 6000mg collagen 50mg hyaluronic acid, and 3000mcg biotin. The flavor is Tangerine Twist. I'm guessing it'll taste like Tang.

Overall, I think you get a lot of product for your money here, especially if you use the 50% off coupon which I do believe is still in effect. The code is: BULUFIVE and will work with either box.  Each sample gives you an idea of whether or not you will like the product enough to fork out the cost of a full size. And let's be honest, nutritional supplements are expensive! It's great to be able to try them first. I am real happy with Bulu Box, and recommend them to my readers!
