Target Refresh Beauty Box January 2016 Review

OMGosh! I finally got my box. I live in Colorado. The box shipped from Illinois, and took a week to get to Denver. Once it arrived in Denver, it decided to take a 2-week road trip. It went to Ohio, then Iowa, then California. Finally it made it's way back to Denver, and to me. I sure hope it enjoyed the trip! ;-)

Target Beauty boxes aren't a subscription. They pop up on the site every month or two out of the blue. You have to grab one before they sell out. Sometimes they have one. Sometimes they have one for men, and one for women, sometimes they have more than one theme. The costs vary. I've seen them for $5, $7, and $10. Either way they sell out within hours, so you gotta get one quick! They are only sold online. This one cost $7.

There were 8 items in this month's box:
  • ACURE Day Cream
  • John Frieda Keraflex Hair Spray
  • NIVEA In-Shower Body Lotion
  • Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Pads
  • Braided Elastic Bands
  • Simple Micellar Wipes
  • Marlowe Extra Moisturizing Lotion
  • Clear Total Care Shampoo & Conditioner

Let me start off my review by saying I'm reviewing the subscription box from an honest, normal consumer's opinion. I'm not reviewing the individual products in the box. I review the box so that you can decide if this is something you'd like to purchase. As for the products, if a product stands out, good or bad, I will make a separate review for that product/brand.

The info car always describes each item. There is usually a coupon for beauty products at Target or Target online. Most products in the Target boxes are travel-size. But some are samples, deluxe samples or full-size.

The first product in the box is Simple Micellar Wipes, which is full-size. A pack of 25. They are makeup removal wipes. They contain no artificial perfumes or dyes.

The next item is a 2oz can of Frizz Ease hairspray. We don't use hairspray so this will be passed on to someone who does.

Acure Day Cream is next. This is vegan, sulfite, paraban, PEG, petroleum, and phthalate free. It's got a slight citrus scent, ans 100% biodegradable. It's 1oz, so there's enough to see if you like it.

There is also body lotion from Marlowe included. It contains antioxidants & extracts to help soften & smooth skin. At 1oz, it's paraban & phthalate free, and made in the USA.

Clear
The next items in the box were from Clear. It listed a shampoo & conditioner, but I received a 2-in-1 dandruff shampoo for men, and a Total Care conditioner.  I'm OK with that. The men's shampoo will go to my son. He has to switch shampoos every single shower or his hair doesn't get clean. I think he has more bath products in there than I do.

I've gotten a couple travel-sized clear shampoo & conditioners before. They will get used.

Nivea, Nip+Fab, & Scunci

The last three items were from Nivea, Nip+Fab, and Scunci.

The Nivea is a in the shower lotion. After using soap & rinsing, you then apply the in-shower lotion. You then rinse & dry off as usual. I'm interested in trying this. I hate putting on lotion after a shower, so this may work for me. It does caution to clean the tub afterwards because it's slippery.

The Nip+Fab are Glycolic exfoliating facial pads. I haven't used one of these types of products in years. I used to love them. There are 5 pads in the container.

Target always puts some type of hair band in their boxes. These are braided elastic bands. I'm constantly wearing my hair up, so these are always welcome.

I always look forward to when these boxes go up on the website for sale. This box has a value of over $20, so well worth the cost of $7! If there is one beauty box you should get, it's the Target Beauty Box!
