Freemie Discrete Breast Milk Pumping System Review
By guest reviewer: Jennifer

This is my disclaimer... dudes and ladies who don't want to hear about anything breastfeeding/breast milk expression, just scroll right on by this post. But there are a lot of my friends who are getting ready to have a baby or who have recently had a baby and their supportive, wonderful male counterparts that I think would benefit from this post...

So Hunter [my son] struggled from the get go with latching to feed... we limped along before we decided that he might just be better off getting my milk from a bottle. I started pumping... and pumping... and pumping. I have a high quality pump which works great, and several of the traditional setups with what they call horns and the bottles that screw into them. Great for making baby food, but horribly inconvenient and bulky. I've been frustrated with trying to pump, especially at work since my work is not a stop and go pump and the work will just wait for you kinda job...

I work in a dispatch center and we answer phones, talk on the radio, and a bunch of other stuff. If I leave my station to go pump for 30 minutes or however long it takes, that means someone else has to cover my position which doubles their workload. This has created some hostility and the whole situation has caused tons of stress to me because I have been stuck in situations where I couldn't pump and where I was told I'd just have to wait to pump. I had been so stressed my supply was dwindling and I've been very upset about it because I want to be able to provide for Hunter.

And now my point... I saw an ad on Facebook one day that was geared toward breastfeeding moms who needed to be mobile or hands free while pumping... I was pretty skeptical, but I forked over the cash and ordered a set of these cups which are designed to fit inside the bra of the user. OMG! LIFESAVER! They work with a bunch of different pumps, and they are discreet enough that I can put them in place and pump at my desk without anyone even knowing! My stress level has decreased dramatically , and I have not honestly noticed any drop from using the non-traditional set up for pumping. PHEW! These things are awesome and I'd say worth checking out if you are considering pumping... website is Freemie and yes, they are not the cheapest, but totally worth it in my opinion!
