Handmade Beauty Box DIY Delivered February 2016 Subscription Box Review & Coupon & Contest

Handmade Beauty Box. If you haven't been reading my reviews, you don't know how much we LOVE this box. We've never been disappointed in one of their boxes.

February's box is Cocoa Bath Bombs. The box includes:
  • 24oz Sodium Bicarbonate
  • 12oz Citric Acid
  • .5oz Cocoa Butter Pastilles
  • .5oz Oatmeal & Honey Fragrance Oil
  • .1oz Coral Mica
  • .2oz Rose Petals
  • 1oz Witch Hazel in an aluminum spray bottle
  • 1 Pippette
  • Disk Molds with Lids
  • Finished Labels
You will need: 2 medium mixing bowls, an optional sifter, 1 sm heat safe container, optional rubber gloves, and a mask if you are sensitive to powders.

The mica & rose petals that go into this project are so pretty.

The box comes with a detailed instruction card. I like that they send the instructions in the box. I don't like kits that have the instructions online, or worse in video format only. I don't have download or streaming capability with my rural internet. So instructional cards are a true plus for me.

The main components in the bath bombs are sodium bicarbonate & citric acid. They give you plenty for this project. The project is for 10 bath bombs.

If you decide to make more bath bombs, you can easily purchase more of this from several online merchants.

As we mentioned, this kit contains enough to make 10 bath bombs, so of course they include 10 disk molds with lids.

I like that these are included. It makes it easy. These are pretty secure when snapping together. They are only for molding, and don't hold 'wet' ingredients for a long period of time, so they're perfect. You know what else? They're reusable!

Also included in the kit is the fragrance oil & the witch hazel.

They could have easily said you need to get your own witch hazel for this project. But not only did they include it, it's in a nice aluminum spray bottle!

The fragrance oil smells really nice. It's not too strong, and definitely has an oatmeal scent.

I, however, don't understand why it's in such a large glass bottle. It's about 1/3 full. It makes me feel like I didn't get what I was supposed to.

The last items in the box are the mica, cocoa butter, labels, & rose petals.

You don't need a lot of these ingredients for your project. But it's enough for the 10 bath bombs.

Using the rose petals are optional.

I did not get a photo of the labels. They were underneath the paper crimps & I forgot. They are nice printed labels that can go on the plastic disc containers, or, if you choose to remove your bombs & wrap them, you can adhere them to the wrapping. Although you have to cut the labels out, they are printed on sticker paper.

Handmade Beauty Box, may I suggest a silhouette? I don't know anyone that can cut a circle by hand  well. ;-)

Each finished bath bomb is for use in one full  tub of water.

I think this project is the bomb. Get it? See what I did there? *sigh* Anyway, this is a great little project that not only older kids will like to do, but adults as well.

  1. Thanks for the awesome review. We think YOU'RE the bomb (that joke never gets old). In regards to the label cutting - we usually cut ours before coffee =)
