Lawless Jerky Review

We've had the pleasure of of trying several brands of jerky over the last couple months. Each have their own characteristics.

What makes Lawless a great jerky I think, is that it's made from all-natural, 100% grass-fed beef, with no nitrates or nitrites. And you can really taste the difference.

I started buying no nitrate hot dogs, bacon and pepperoni about a year ago, and I would never go back. It just has so much more flavor. Plus, my daughter stopped getting headaches when eating these processed products.

When you eat 100% grass-fed beef, you can really taste the difference in the quality of the meat. The flavors of the spices added are more pure, and you can taste the flavorings instead of just.... dried meat.

Grass Fed Meat is Healthier. Grass-fed beef is higher in heart healthy omega-3s and antioxidants and lower in cholesterol and saturated fat. New Zealand grass-fed cattle graze naturally in open, GMO-free pastures. They live healthier, less stressful lives than conventionally raised cows, which are forced into cramped and unsanitary living conditions. A natural diet of fresh grass and exercise means leaner, more natural meat. The way nature intended! Beef jerky from 100% grass-fed cattle has real, not rubbery, texture and no unappealing gristle.

We were pleased to be able to try a few of these. All flavors are thoughtfully handmade with consciously raised meats, including 100% grass-fed beef and hormone-free, antibiotic-free pork.

Each package is 2oz, and comes in a resealable coated paper pouch.

The Aloha Teriyaki was probably our favorite. It was 'softer' than the others, and full of soy & sesame flavor. It is sweet from brown sugar, spiced with ginger, garlic, and onion, tangy from rice vinegar, and salted with gluten-free tamari.

Mexican-inspired Honey Chipotle is spiced with smoked chilies, paprika, and garlic, sweet from honey and brown sugar, tangy from apple cider vinegar, naturally smokey, and, of course, a touch of salt. 

Jerky is dried meat, and Lawless is quite dried. Meaning it has a chew to it. Not tough, but not soft & squishy, either.

The sweet Sriracha had a nice kick. Right there, at the back of your throat. Yeah, that was good. It is made with garlic, cayenne, ginger, and other healthful spices.

The BBQ Spare Rib is inspired by the iconic Sichuan dish. It is USA Raised Pork jerky, and is tangy from ketchup, umami from gluten-free soy sauce, and sweet from honey.

Lawless Jerky was founded by attorney Matt Tolnick, who realized that he could bring more smiles to more faces through his jerky than through his lawyering. So Matt bravely left his practice to pursue his passion: crafting small-batch jerky by hand and in powerful and unique Braver Flavors.
