Sensploration Coffee February 2016 Subscription Box Review & Coupon

In all honesty, I ran across Sensploration Coffee by accident. And I'm glad I did! This isn't one of those well known subscription boxes, but it should be. Hopefully they will be soon!

Included in the oh, so good smelling box, is an info card. It tells about the roasts that are included. It also tells a little about the company that Abdullah & Natashia started.

Included in this box are a Paniolo Blend, and a North Shore Blend. These are from North Shore Coffee Roasters in Haleiwa, Hawaii.

Also included in the box were AlohaMacs (chocolate covered macadamia candies) from Hawaiian Host.

The Paniolo blend is a very dark blend featuring Molokai Coffee. It's full bodied with fruity undertones and a really smooth taste.

These are whole bean coffees. As I ground them, the aromatics were just exquisite. I used my french press to taste these coffees. It brings out the flavors an automatic coffee maker just can't. I have to say, for a dark coffee, I didn't taste the normal bitterness & acidity. I don't like darks because of this, but the Panioli I will drink..... with a bit of nice dark chocolate as a treat.

Sensploration's subscription service has 4 options. Light, Medium, Dark, or a mix. We received the mix to review, and I'm glad.
The second roast we received was a light/medium blend,

This roast features Waialua Coffee which grows on the north shore of Oahu. It's full-bodied, has a rich flavor, and a smooth taste.

Again, this smelled rich, and had no bitterness or acidity. I gave this one a little less sugar & cream to experience the actual coffee flavor a bit more. It was very pleasing.

With each monthly subscription, you receive two 5oz bags of different blends. Their coffee is freshly roasted 24-48 hours prior to shipping, then packaged in valve sealed gusseted bags that allow the beans to stay as fresh as possible upon delivery.

You can subscribe month-to-month, or sign up for 3, 6, or 12 month plans.

Each monthly box contains a surprise gift! Ours was AlohaMacs from Hawaiian Host.

These were a very yummy treat! Hawaiian Host is the largest manufacturer of chocolate covered macadamias in the world.

We received the Maui Caramacs, the Dark Chocolate Alohamacs, and the Milk Chocolate Alohamacs. All are acadamias covered in a fine chocolate. These are nothing like those big brand commercial ones you buy at the local drugstore. No comparison! These are by far better. They may be small, but are big on flavor. If you want to gift someone a treat. I recommend Hawaiian Host!

The box & packaging from Sensploration Coffee is beautiful. I love the black. Coffee subscriptions are predominantly sent in brown, or burlap packaging, which is nice, but this was.... a step up.

I really liked this box. The price isn't too bad for  Hawaiian coffee. It's usually much more expensive than roasts you find in the continental US. Especially when you factor in that the shipping is included. Also, if you sign up for a longer subscription, the cost per box goes down.

I really do think I need an intervention with this whole coffee smelling thing, because I just cannot stop smelling what's left in these bags as I sit here & write this review. Yeah, I have a problem. But it smells sooooo good!

When you visit their web page, there is a pop up that lets you save $5 when you sign up for emails.
